EDF, the state-controlled French energy giant, threw down the gauntlet to
Warren Buffett today, with a $4.5 billion ($£3 billion) bid for part of
Constellation Energy designed to frustrate the legendary US investor’s
proposed takeover of the US wholesale power group.
